Agreed. Notre Dame is really bad this year.

And what's even worse is that they are getting beat by Georgia Tech, a team that has taken a MASSIVE loss on their offense.

Not looking good for Charlie....But somehow I think they will still get coverage.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Where's the Notre Dame QB protection?

Notre Dame not good at all. They only scored 3. That is 3 more then I would like to see them score. Maybe they will put up some goose eggs in their upcoming games. Way to go Georgia Tech...

This isn't very surprising at all. Notre Dame will NOT be bowling. They'll lose one between Navy and Michigan State while the only wins will come against Air Force, Stanford, MSU/Navy, and Duke. I do expect that Notre Dame should be better in the future though, this season will be one of the few blemishes on Weis' career at Notre Dame.

I agree, except I think that ND will win 6. I think CW will go to Claussen figuring this season is a washout. Claussen will eventually be a good QB. He didn't look terrible for a true freshman taking snaps against a good defense. Jon Tenuta is one of the best defensive guys in all of CFB. So look for Claussen to improve tons as the season wears on.

Charlie Weis has pulled in some pretty good recruiting classes the last couple years and is working on another one, so I think it is just a matter of time as well.

I am sure part of the pass given has to do with the mystique of NFL superbowl etc. This will only work for so long. I really don't think three years is an adequate time to give a coach, as he should have the time to have all of his recruits to fully implement his system. IMO, Willingham was not given the proper amount of time. Not sure how long they will go with Charlie either.

Lloyd Carr may soon be available. :D

No, they didn't give Willingham enough time, because they fired him ( thinking they had Meyers as a sure lock ) before Ty had his team ready.
Charlie got to coach the team Tyrone built. But to answer your round about quirey, notre dame extended Wies' contract to 2015 after his first season.

Clausen played against Ga Tech's second team defense. He did move the ball a little. But was also sacked.

An offensive genius was the word. Funny how a lack of talent can turn a genius into a goat. CFB is all about recruiting and developing talent. Weis has had some good classes, but he needs to prove he can develop it and he might, but he hasn't yet.

It's even worse than that: Quoting Charlie Weis

" After thi game, everyone in the country will know the name '. . . . . . .' "

Refering to their starting halfback '. . . . . . . . . .'

Without looking his name up,who remembers his name.

I know I do not recall his name, and there are two reasons that is bad for ND.

1. I watched the game, and my lady's father mentioned the quote during so multiple times, and the announcers said his name a couple of times also.

2. I live in South Bend, and I still can't remember his name.

Why is that?

Because ND finished the game with -9 rushing yards.
( yes, that IS negative 9 )

If Clausen can only move the ball with moderate success against Georgia Tech's second string D, then, how on earth is he supposed to challenge Line Backer U?

Especially with no run support?!

No way does a one dimensional passing team walk into Beaver stadium and walk away a winner, without pass protection.

Charlie needs to scrap this season, swallow his ego, and admit his team is in a rebuilding phase.

Rebuild... heh!

Maybe we should call it reconstituting instead.
Because heaven knows, they need some sort of structure to rebuild from, first.

Who remembers my notre dame fight song parode~

< `Cane's version of the ND Fight Song >

"Jeer! Jeer! Toward poor notre dame!

Once a great school , Now a laughing Shame!

Hear the woeful morning cry!

From all the faithful , asking God "Why"!

What tho` the game be great or be small ,
poor notre dame will-lose most-of them all!

While her broken sons are bantered off from the football field!"

=============================================

The veriant to that last line I also came up with, is:

"While her broken sons are karted off of the football field!"

=============================================

I know most would say, I would never wish for payers to actually get injured during a game, and I agree with you all.

My thinking was, notre dame's team would have to be carried off the field due to fatigue, as, they are so slow, trying to keep up would make them drop from exhaustion.

Though, I leave it to you, to interpret it the way you will, and leave it entirely up to you, which ending you prefer.

Extending the contract does not necessarily mean he will be given that long. Depends on the buy out clauses, etc.

Oh I don't believe they will compete with Penn State either. Not with any QB. They don't have the players. Notre Dame has been rebuiding for more then a decade.

Penn State will beat them like Oklahoma beat that team, don't remember there name, 79-(something)

I don't think it will be that bad. If Penn State gets up by a lot Paterno will get his younger guys some experience.
