most frequented site? + why?

Postby Larry » Wed Jan 18, 2006 9:23 pm

Besides this college football site, what are your most frequented sites on "the web"???

I think this is a cool question, as it might indicate your personality/interests, etc.

Here's mine: "ebay" -- reason: I search ebay for "Mopar" muscle cars (I have a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T convertible, Hurst 4-speed, panther pink, w/white top (power) and white interior. [$70,000 won't buy it]

During the past 2 years, I have bought & sold 3 "Mopars" and tripled my money. I have also bought several "Hawkeye" (football team) at a good price. I have now sold over $20.000 worth of items in the past twelve months.
Great site, but has anybody gotten screwed on ebay???

My website surfing is almost exclusively confined to sports. No eBay.
I mostly use CFP, ESPN and Yahoo Sports. Check out Sportsline on occasion, rarely use USA Today, like Vegas Insider just to see what are established CF odds are (I don't bet, though). Naturally, I frequent hokiesports.com and techsideline.com. Also roanoke.com which is the closest "city" paper to read up on Virginia Tech.

Otherwsie, I use the web a lot for things like booking air travel, rental cars and hotels, entertainment tickets, etc.

I forgot - I also use "the web" to find the latest info regarding tree, shrubs, lawns and their related problems, pests, pesticides, and equipment (my profession). I check out some of the abovementioned sites too, but I'm gunna try others that you guys listed - thanks.

LubbockHasNoTrees - the guy who originally trained me was from Lubbock, and he said the same thing - no trees, just scrub stuff.

openskies - my uncle (lives in N. Kansas City & is in his late 80's) started with Braniff before WW II in San Antonio where they would roll out 55-gallon drums of fuel to the planes. He retired from Braniff just before they went under. Last position was head of "stewardess training". Of course, he's a K.C. fan now.
Seems many of today's older airline pilots flew in Viet Nam. My cousin did - flew over 200 sorties (ground support). Began in the Air National Guard (Sioux Falls, Sioux City, Des Moines). He used to "buzz" our farm in NW Iowa, but my Dad would get mad cuz it scared the cattle. I always liked hearing the "sonic boom". Ended his career as base commander of the 135th tactical out of Des Moines. Now he's a retired General living in Colorado Springs. He used to send back cassette tapes (instead of writing letters) to us....sometimes recording during his sorties where we could actually hear the machine guns firing.

Sorry for getting off the subject, Larry.

Yeah, I like the cfdatawarehouse, too. I like collegeofotballpoll.com's yearly review sections, too, in the History area.
