Or the input from any of the presidents from his conference ...

Greg Sankey didn't want anything resembling this proposal.

Sankey heads a conference that has already been doing just that for 2 decades now, with an agreed upon understanding that none of the conference members would rat each other out to the NCAA.

What Sankey wants is to be commissioner of the only conference who lets their programs take part in this behavior. Parity is precisely the thing that he's been avoiding. It's like the shadow he can't detach himself from. Every measure he's taken, is to push all other conferences down, for as long as he can.

Oh yell……. It’s coming, and you know the university presidents and governing boards have directed and authorized Charlie Baker to address this. The last thing they want is for the student athletes to become employees of the schools, the lifetime liabilities and costs would be astronomical.
They’re currently attempting to have Congress pass legislation for protection on various fronts and exposures including student athletes being employees…… while facing National Labor Relations lawsuits to do just that……. and the truth is they’ve, the university presidents and governing boards, got no one the blame but themselves. They turned these Conference Commissioners and Athletic Departments loose, for the money, while those dumbasses have brought the game to this point.

There are lots of things that are bad about this, the worst being the cost to non revenue sports - like golf, swimming, archery, lacrosse, field hockey, and ice hockey to name a few. What will happen to the money that funds those sports?

This is just one of the things the NCAA has and will continue to have to deal with until they get their house in order. Seven state Attorney Generals, including West Virginia, filing lawsuits over Transfers Portal issues in Federal Court.

Good luck, Charlie 8)

“The lawsuit came just hours after a related lawsuit was filed, also in Clarksburg Federal Court, by attorney generals from seven states, including West Virginia, claiming the NCAA’s transfer eligibility rule violates anti-trust laws.”

I think if their coach leaves they should be able to transfer with no restrictions. I also think if their coach is still there, they should get 1 do over and then they sit for a year. Some of this is just unreasonable.
