Let's Rate ... 2022

Postby Cane from the Bend » Tue Apr 12, 2022 10:01 pm

-------------------------------------------------------------

With all of the hoopla over recruiting classes, transfers and coaching turnover, I thought it'd be interesting to get each other's thoughts on peer comparisons.

I figured, instead of nationalizing our rankings, we could stay more local, and tier current state of conference competition.

Where to start ..?

In this first post, I'll put the Head Coach names by Power5 Conferences in alphabetical order, to which replies to this post, I ask you give your ranking order of In-Conference peer comparison.

I’m absolutely one who’s been caught-up in all the hoopla……

This will be a good redirect for me, although it will take a little time for me to determine how I’ll go about determining my rankings, especially with the coaching changes happening in the BigXII. 8) 8) 8)

Big 12

Brent Venables -- Oklahoma
Chris Klieman -- Kansas State
Dave Aranda -- Baylor
Joey McGuire -- Texas Tech
Lance Leipold -- Kansas
Matt Campbell -- Iowa State
Mike Gundy -- Oklahoma State
Neal Brown -- West Virginia
Sonny Dykes -- TCU
Steve Sarkisian -- Texas

SEC

Kirby Smart -- Georgia (obviously 8) )
Nick Saban -- Alabama
Sam Pittman -- Arkansas (they might finish 2nd in the West this year)
Mark Stoops -- Kentucky (they hung with Ga better than anybody but Bama and Clemson last year)
Josh Heupel -- Tennessee
Billy Napier -- Florida
Bryan Harsin -- Auburn
Brian Kelly -- LSU
Mike Leach -- Mississippi State (Metal shed still comes to mind)
Jimbo Fisher -- Texas A&M
Eliah Drinkwitz -- Missouri
Shane Beamer -- South Carolina
Clark Lea -- Vanderbilt
Lane Kiffin -- Ole Miss (He's not really last, but I just can't)
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

- John Madden
