Joel literally gives the opposite of the mainstream narrative in this segment:

It's a pleasant thing to see, while it's still allowed to be said.

Success is measured by results; whereas Character is measured through the means by which one achieves those results . . .

It seems the Rapture did come for two worthy souls:

Ronald Regan, in a speech about a peculiar mentality in some people, he spoke of a group with the creed of……. “there’s somebody somewhere that’s having a good time, and by god we’re going to put a stop to it”. I think he was right about that.
”We’re already in a time where the on-field aspect of College Football is almost a distraction. It’s an era filled with handwringing about player empowerment, NCAA deregulation, the transfer portal and realignment all while the sport generally moves toward a professional model.” ~ Dennis Dodd

That is absolutely the idea of a lot of our society today. "You should be allowed to do anything you want - unless we don't like it and if we don't like it we should be able to silence you." There are members of congress right now that openly expouse Marxist ideas and people reelect them. I guess until they get enough power to fullfill their autocratic birth right and stand us in a bread line.
"History doesn't always repeat itself but it often rhymes." - Mark Twain
