Growing Old on this Board

Postby billybud » Mon May 31, 2021 7:08 am

This month marks the beginning of my 16th year on the board...moving through the fall of my life into winter with Spence, Cane, Derek and Mountainman.

Seems like the board and I are in a race to see which of us hits the event horizon first....I do miss our friend Donovan and have even taken on some of his curmudgeon mantle...like life, others have slipped off the board...Eric, I reckon, has found a life...others have migrated on.

It is my goal to say "It's my 25th" on this board...I'll be 85 if I do so.....OK board...I am challenging you, dude, stay alive another ten.

Happy Anniversary billy……… we’re all in the same race against the likes of technology, guys like Barnie Saunders and his unionizing of College Football Players and Father Time. It’s a race we can’t win, but we can sure have some fun along the way.

I'm not going anywhere. I do miss Donovan. He was always good for something interesting.

This board is going nowhere as long as I'm around. 8)

I'm grateful for everyone who still participates!!
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

I was going to post something to that effect ...

I was going to say, I'm going to be around, so long as Derek is willing to hang in there.

I figure we have a similar sense of devotion. Might be the generation. Or, maybe the simple human condition of not liking change.

I'll stick it out until the internet melts down, if I'm around long enough to see that happen.

Even should that mean I'm the only one posting, and competing with myself in the predictions.

I'll be here.
