My brother is a Tenn fan and when I told him the new coach had been hired he said "who??". 8)
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

The first paragraph may have already given us the answer to the "why":

athletic director Danny White didn't have to look far to land his head football coach. White named UCF's Josh Heupel as the Vols' next coach on Wednesday.

White previously hired Heupel when White was the UCF athletic director.

It's that same old tradition of we humans being creature of habit.

He said he made a nation wide exhaustive search ... Not sure I buy that.

My guess, is they knew right away who they were going to hire, and sat on it for a bit.

Generally, we'd have heard about this coach or that, having been contacted by the university. However, this really is the only name I heard actually being approached. Sure there was some speculation by sports enthusiasts. This name or that had been mentioned by the outsiders looking in. Though, I hadn't heard that Tennessee was interested in any of those public opinion candidates.

I am curious to see what this does to UCF, too.

From Frost to Heupel, where do they go? And, will Heupel be as slow to start in Knoxville as Frost in Lincoln?

If so; Will Rocky Top keep him long enough to change the culture? Or will their Carousel continued to rotate?

Tennessee has made themselves quite the reputation of making very bad decisions in hiring coaches.

Dan Patrick was up on Tennessee early...but he threw Georgia under the bus in the same discussions..

Patrick said, "I was told Tennessee is on the clock of being investigated. Next in the on deck circle — Georgia. I was told Georgia got sloppy this year in recruiting or maybe it's been a couple of years but the NCAA is looking at Georgia as well. Just something to keep an eye on. Everything that I'm telling you is what I was told yesterday by my source.

“Maybe there's nothing at Tennessee, there's nothing at Georgia, I can only tell you what is happening in real time behind the scenes here."

Guess not ...

Which is quite remarkable, since I'm usually the one having connection issues.
