THe Big ten has done it's level best to screw up it's part of all of this. If they aren't in the playoff's, it is on them.

It does appear that both the Big Ten and the PAC-12 rushed their initial decisions not to play early on as both determined later to begin play. Both conferences may indeed suffer the consequences of doing so, but there we have, once again, an example of no decision making authority structure in college football within the decision makers made up of the NCAA, the conferences and the College Football Playoff Committee. And I see where the CFP Committee has said that come hell or high water they will have the teams selected and seeded for the playoff on December 20th, leaving little wiggle room for completing the regular season and the conference championship games. :? :?

It’s the season of rule changes, it has been topsy-turby before the season began and will continue throughout the “regular” season....... BUT, when the post-season rolls around, they’ll be one rule that does not change. And that will be that a group, The College Football Playoff Committee, will convene and subjectively select ‘The Four Best Teams’ to play for the title....... regardless of ANY what’s, why’s, circumstance or regular season records that have occurred this season. 8)

The Wonderful World of Disney will make it happen.......

The insane thing is ...

Disney has pushed their social engineering rhetoric into every aspect of the entertainment industry; obviously not stopping at sports.

They keep buying other entertainment franchises, and running them into the ground with PC activism ideology. They don't do what's best for business, as their stock was projected to plummet hard, well before news of the "Pandemic" was announced.

People have gotten tired of the virtue signaling, and being told how terrible they should feel about being so "Privileged". All while, using their own Billions of Dollars worth of privilege to dictate how we should think, and not spending a dime to actually help the people who they say need so much assistance.

I think this all to be interesting, because for them to tell us how corporations are the evils in the world, they support the profiteering of the "Elite" when it comes to the College Football playoffs, knowing darn well the reason the selection of the 4 best teams, really just mean:

The Four Teams that are Best for Business

Yes, there are some in the committee who truly believe in the mission statement that suggests getting the four best teams of the year. But when head to head competition doesn't exclude someone, which produces the potential rematch in the Tournament ... what did the results on the field mean by having those teams play one another in the "regular season"?

We might just as well do away with the season, and have the stupid playoff, since they seem to already have it figured out.

Let's face it ... the Pac-12 for instance, never really had a shot. Oregon was placed at #15 with a 3-0 record, even though teams who've played equally as well or bad have been ranked much higher with the same record earlier this season. And we were told, these aren't who the best teams are, exactly. They are just based on the games that have been played, and the results as they stand.

USC is still undefeated, and they hadn't cancelled their game for this past weekend yet when that poll came out.
Colorado is undefeated, and they were never going to be given the chance, even if they finish that way.
Washington is undefeated, and nobody even seems to notice.

Okay ...

Then why was Georgia ranked at #9 ..?

The only 2 teams that have a legitimate claim to being that good on Georgia's schedule, are florida & Alabama.

Alabama beat Georgia 41-24
florida beat Georgia 44-28

Their best two regular season games, were blowout losses.

Shouldn't that prove they are not a top 10 team?

Georgia's being #8 prevented maybe another team from being in the Top 10, which logically removes them from the Playoff Conversation. [based upon previous poll releases]

If Notre Dame plays a really close game to Clemson, and loses to them in overtime in the ACC title game; we could literally see them play for a third time in the playoff.

Ohio State is ranked #4

They've dropped 2 games to positive testing protocols, and have only 1 signature win, against Indiana.

Other than the Hoosiers, OSU's opponents have been, Nebraska - Penn State - Rutgers:

Nebraska is 1-4
Penn State is 1-5
Rutgers is 2-4

Combined their strength of record is 4-13

After having Cancelled their game with Illinois, the Buckeyes remaining schedule is:

Michigan State 2-3
Michigan 2-4

And we're supposed to give a pass to Ohio St because of their good win against IU, when the Buckeyes were on their heels the entire second half, and were very lucky to come away with a win.

Yet we're supposed to believe that Cincinnati & BYU do not qualify for the Tournament because of the level of competition they have played against. :?

Yep, got it ...

I don't believe Ohio State is going to play another game this season. I don't think Ohio State can field a team this week and Michigan looks like they might be done for the next two, from what I have heard.

You think that sucks....check out FSU !

Game postponed or cancelled for the third straight weekend....FSU down to 44 fieldable players and some position groupings have no players.

What a year...

Those 11-hour game cancellations by FSU have raised the ire of Clemson and Virginia, Dabo vented to the media while Virginia is seeking a rule review from the ACC.

Of course we all know Dabo likes to shoot his mouth off to the media about his manufactured causes, and the blue bloods at UVA prefer others just sit, listen and follow whatever they come up with as what’s best for everyone else to do except for themselves.....

Well...it was Dabo who practiced a player all week who was symptomatic...and who reported it late to FSU that the test came back positive after Clemson had arrived in Tallahassee...as Coach Norvell said, the athletic department did not make the decision, the medical advisors did...

Dabo knows that he might have had several infected players on the field...

Dabo could have isolated the guy and made the game more likely to have been played. That missed game is on Clemson.

Did I read somewhere on this board about the lack of ‘decision making authority structure’ and ‘change the rules to prescribe the outcome you prefer’?????

I know I saw that somewhere.......

I think if your team is the reason their can't be a game you should have to forfeit that game. That would make Ohio State 4-1, but that is the right way to do it.

I notice that the SEC is whining...because the ACC cancelled their 11th game for Notre Dame and Clemson...but the SEC only scheduled 10 games....

Clemson has already played 9 games to Bama's 8...and will play VT Saturday for #10.....cry me a river...
