Nebraska at Ohio State

-------------------------------------------------------------

The fighting Howdies are making a pretty nice stand against the Buckeyes.

In the last couple of seasons, the Huskers had some scrappy games, only to lose vs even the weaker opponents, making them just look like at team that was really overachieving in their losses. They just seemed to be in a state of disrepair.

If this first half against OSU is shades of thing to come; then Nebraska might finally be headed in the right direction.

Ohio Stare’s defense, especially the linebackers, don’t look good. Same problem as last year in the middle except no Chase Young to ramp up the pass rush. Ohio State is going to have problems covering in the middle of the field all year unless they have something we haven’t seen yet to unleash.

Tom Osborne has managed to take Nebraska to the highest level of excellence to the lowest level of mediocrity........ when he spearheaded the move from the Big XII, just where in the hell did he think the Cornhuskers were going to recruit????

Ohio State does really well in Texas so I am not sure that is it. I think Frost can and is turning it around. He just has to start winning and things will fix themselves.

Well that kinda helps make my point, there’s a limit to the ‘elite’ talent, even in Texas. And by the time the Texas schools and Oklahoma schools get theirs and ‘elite’ programs outside of Texas, like Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson, LSU, and others get theirs, there’s not enough elite talent remaining for teams that are not year-in and year-out Top Ten or better programs. 8)

Yes, I agree, but I think Nebraska can still be a player in Texas and even in the West and Midwest if Frost can start winning. It does all center around winning. I also think that if Texas starts recruiting better in their backyard it will make things tough for all of the schools trying to recruit Texas. Nebraska just has a huge mountain to climb. Still they have B10 resources to start their climb.
