Some Quick Observations on Today, So Far ...

West Virginia; I know, it's just Eastern Kentucky --- But, being up 42-7 at the half is exactly what you want. The offense is clicking, and the defense seems aware. A nice start for sure.

Kansas State -v- Arkansas State --- This game shouldn't even be as close as it currently is; If Ark St would have passed the ball in the Red Zone, they'd be up 35-21. Instead, the Coach tried to force the run, and missed on two scoring opportunities. They abandoned what was working, which makes no sense when you're trailing. Now, it is all tied up at 21. The Red Wolves have been on K. States side of the field more than vice versa --- Tho, the Wildcats are on the move, now.

Iowa State is just getting beat, right now --- Louisiana just flat out bent them over and switch their hind side with a deep pass. Someone needs to call Social Services, because that was simply abuse. Now, the Cajuns just returned a kick for a Touchdown. Break out the Aloe Vera ... those scorch marks gonna sting.

Charlotte -v- App State --- This is a sloppy wet game. But competitive. College Football, as it should be.

Syracuse should be winning --- The Orange are shooting themselves in the foot. They have had more opportunities than North Carolina. But, lack of execution when it matters most. The `Heels may be suffering from rust. Though, they aren't playing any better than Syracuse, just doing enough to stay ahead.

North Carolina has put it together. I thing lack of overall discipline is affecting Syracuse. The scheme is alright, however, the players aren't sharp enough to capitalize.

ND has started off with their first two drives ending in 3 & outs. Duke blew it on their last drive. They had momentum, with a huge pass play up the middle. Then they fell flat, having to settle for the field goal --- They're leading 3-0, and have the ball, though. But this game might become a Defensive battle.

Kansas State is holding on for dear life --- Arkansas St had them dead to rights. They got a 7 point lead, and pushed the Wildcats into a 2cnd & 33. Then, bailed out by a stupid roughing the passer; The QB threw the ball into the grass, and the defender ran up to him and shoved him to the ground --- K. State just scored a TD, and tied up the game at 28, with about 6 and a half minutes left in regulation.

Iowa State just proved that Preseason Polls are ridiculous --- Fantastic win for Louisiana-Lafayette 31-14.

The Ragin' Cajuns won this game outright. Four receivers short, yet they came to play, and deserved this victory.

WoW!!

The refs are bailing Kansas State out right now.

Ball clearly hit the turf, and bounced into the receiver's hands. They didn't even stop the game for replay, and the Wildcats pass for another first down.

10 seconds left, now, after a sack.

This is kinda intense.

Another stupid mistake by Arkansas State ...

Unnecessary roughness, turns a 3rd and 16, with 3 seconds left, into plus 15 yards 1rst down.

Incomplete pass, 35-31, the Red Wolves win!

Excellent Game!

Kansas State was given so many chances; they just couldn't get the job done.

Overall, Arkansas St outplayed the Wildcats. Take nothing away from this victory. Kansas St didn't just lose, Ark State beat them.

From being down, 21-7, coming all the way back to take the lead, 28-21. Battling back, when falling behind by 3 points, with 2 minutes left. This game had it all. Lead chances, momentum changes, big plays and dimwitted mistakes ... a fun watch.

The Big XII is now down 2 games to the Group of 5 .
The Sun Belt is up 2 games over the Power 5.

Meanwhile; Army is being Army ...

They're marching the field, wearing out UL-Monroes Defense. The Black Knights are up 30-7 with 0:24s left in the 3rd.
[Army's kicker just shanked an extra point off the goal post]

GT-FSU....lightning more disruptive rhan Corvid has been...

Makings of a good game....GT's QB, Sims, a 4 star recruit, had committed to FSU and decommitted three days after Norvell was hirede.

Man, you can't make those sort of mistakes if you're going to stay in the game.

Illegal block below the waist, on a first down run. Turns a nice gain into a 1rst and 25 yard set back.

Georgia Tech seems out of sync.

And now, just as the Jackets get something going, they throw an INT.

That old proverbial saying jumps to mind. "One step forward; Two steps back.

If this turnover can spark the fsu Offense, they could break this game open.

The 'Nole D looks strong and disruptive.

2cnd blocked field goal.

Maybe Blackman gets a reprieve, here.

Unbelievable!!

This UTSA -v- Texas State game is downright thrilling.

The Roadrunners were in complete control of things, when the Bobcats came roaring back.

Huge play, that was overturned, where a Texas St receiver seemed to catch the ball at the goal line, but replay shown his foot touch the out of bounds chalk on the way to the ground, for an incompletion.

The next play, the QB throws a pick six, and San Antonio goes up by 13, with only 3 minutes left.

Texas State, then marches the field, scoring a TD with under 2 minutes left in the game.

But!! They have all 3 timeout left ...

UTSA is held to three plays and out, with as Texas St utilizes all of their timeouts.

Punt Return for a TD --- And Texas State is an extra point from taking the lead --- Missed!!

UTSA can't mount much Offense, so they take a knee for Overtime!

UTSA gets the ball to start OT, scores a Touchdown, and are currently up 48-41 --- Texas St has the ball now.

O' Boy! Texas State misses the Field Goal attempt to start 2cnd Over Time.

Same guy who missed the potential game winning extra point, on the last regulation score.
