Didn’t take Durkin long to get out of dodge.

With Offensive Coordinator, Dan Enos' Miami career in a pine box ...

Rhett Lashlee, Offensive Coordinator from SMU, is hired to resuscitate the Hurricanes Offense.

Lashlee runs a true Spread Offensive Style. In 2017 he took over as OC at UConn.
In 2016, UConn was 122cnd nationally in offense. In 2017, UConn was 49th nationally.
In 2016 UConn was 94th in passing yards. In 2017, UConn was 34th in passing yards.

2018, Lashlee took over as the OC at SMU.

His first year there, the Mustangs passing offense ranked 27th nationally, and averaged 271 passing yards per game.
In 2019, SMU ranked 7th nationally in scoring, averaging 41.8 points per game
--- Miami ranked 100th in scoring offense in 2019 ---

SMU had an average of 489 yards per game, ranking 9th nationally.

They had 4,017 passing yards on the season with an average of 309 yards per game, ranking 13th nationally.

The Mustangs averaged 180 rushing yards per game, 43rd nationally.

Lashlee took Shane Buechele, who transfered from Texas after losing out the Starting position to Sam Ehlinger, repackaged him. This season, as the SMU starting QB, Buechele had 34 TD's to 10 INT's, 3,929 passing yards.

.

Also, news that Alonzo Alonzo Highsmith is to be hired by Miami as a ‘Chief of Staff’ role for the Hurricanes football program.

This position would be an administrator with a strong football acumen that could bring a fresh set of eyes to the daily operations of the program.

Hopefully the Canes don’t forget to play defense...... back in the day, the Miami Defense was absolutely brutal.

It helps when the Head Coach, Diaz, is a Defensive guy. As long as he recruits the players that match his scheme, Miami will not lose sight of that side of the ball.

Don't be surprised, though, if the `Canes do take a dip in their Defensive numbers in 2020. There is just too much outgoing talent at key skill positions to maintain the same level of productivity.

Well, scratch that ...

Looks as though they could not agree on salary; So, no Alonzo Highsmith.

Interestingly enough, Mario Cristobal interviewed Highsmith just a couple of days after Miami did, with an offer for the same Administration position Miami had offered.

Makes one wonder if the reason Miami couldn't seal the deal, if maybe because Oregon offered him more money.

And I'm sure we all felt this was coming more sooner than later ...

Mark Dantonio steps down as the Head Coach of Michigan State.

Hovering right around National Signing Day, I wonder if his class was underwhelming, and he just felt like he didn't have the vigor for the game anymore.

Judging by his statement and considering he just got a new longevity deal from MSU and considering how much the coaching duties and demands has changed in the more recent past he just has had enough and has decided to step aside.

Dantonio didn't have the support of the masses. He is/was a very good coach, but you have to evolve. He didn't want to evolve.

And Now ...

Mel Tucker; who just sent a Tweet out on Saturday, That he was flattered by Michigan's State's interest, but is Committed to Colorado, to build the program, its great athletes, its coaches and supporters. We are relentless. Culture and the Build.

He took a part in an Event for Colorado Donors on Monday.

Today, he is the new head coach for Michigan State.

Tucker has exactly 1 year of Head Coaching experience [last season] --- his team went 5-7.

So, what's next for Colorado, then?

They finally seemed to be turning things around, a bit. They did not have the greatest season in 2019, but there were moments that had shown promise.

This is going to seriously set them back.

A first year head coach, with two recruiting cycles of players for his system, leaves without notice inside of a week post signing day, and making a public declaration of commitment to the team & program.

Yikes ...

I cannot help but wonder if California’s NIL Law was a factor in his decision...... I suspect the members of the Pac-12 outside of California who recruit the State will be impacted.

II don't think Tucker could pass it up. Michigan State threw the brinks truck at him. More than double his current pay and extra coaching staff budget. I'm not sure Tucker planned to be "interested" but Michigan State sent him a huge offer and made him have to refuse it. He couldn't, not many could. The SEC and the B1G have such huge TV deals it makes it unfair for the rest to compete financially when they want to throw their weight around.

Kiffin vs Leach in the Egg Bowl...that is one interesting week for a reporter.

I think Wazzou made a good hire with Rolovich. Young coach who found some early success at Hawaii. The overall offensive scheme seems pretty similar so guys should adjust alot quicker than if they tried to bring in one from another Mt West school with more running style games.
