From what I saw yesterday, four is too many...... maybe we’re going the wrong way when considering expansation, maybe it should be reduced to only the top 2.

Of course the conflicting interests of the ‘everybody should get a trophy’ crowd and the money generated would need to be pacified one way or another.

I think 2 is plenty right now.

Yesterday championship games gave me a chance to catch up on Ronald Coleman in Lost Horizon...Well now that I think about it, the mythical Shangri-La and the mythical National Championship are very much alike.

Of course the vast majority of FBS teams know that they aren't going to win a football championship...their administrations are not fools. It is not a charade.

They choose to participate for many reasons....Old Dominion, Georgia State, South Alabama, Texas San Antonio, Charlotte, etc have recently entered and have no shot at a championship.

"So why bother? Why, in this time of uncertainly, should a university make the extensive financial commitment necessary to support a major college football program? The reasons provided by the schools' athletic directors vary, but there is one common theme: They say having a football team improves the college experience for students and alums. They want their own color and pageantry to enjoy. And if a school is going to play football, it might as well try to play with the best, then worry about the future when it arrives.

...any distribution of "goodness" will be on a bell curve. And with 125 programs, five dozen will be on the back half of the curve...another nealy three dozen will be in the second quartile.

No chance even if there was a 16 team playoff.

The playoff committee, using its best information strives to put together the four best teams....tough job, especially when you have hindsight shooters nsalivating.

But please, stop the whine about these programs being "hoodwinked".

On the other hand, there are schools that absolutely demand a championship. Miami, Houston, there are two casualties this year, so far.

This is the only the second time out of five #1 has faced #2. Just sayin' :D

But the #3 and #4 not named Alabama have long odds....If you aren't Bama, the only #3 or #4 to win was Ohio State the first year of CFP.

If you are Alabama...doesn't matter if you are #4...Put 'em at any seed and they end up in the Championship game....well, only 80% of them so far.

Alabama never seems to deceive themselves on what they want in a recruit. Bigger, Faster, Stronger. And they make it happen, four deep. An interesting chart that shows guidelines. Half of the BCS level should not be there.

Lots of Big, Fast, Quick and Strong Good Ole Boys down south....... Saban recruits wherever he wants to pick-up what he needs and likes California. What I want to know is how did Oklahoma and Okie State let that running back #8 ever get out of Tulsa.

.......like I said, Saban recruits wherever he wants. 8)
