The SEC Madness Syndrome

This article is a perfect example of how delusional fans can be:
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/279 ... e-football

Auburn is just one year removed from playing in the SEC championship. They beat Alabama in the regular season to play against the SEC East champion, Georgia, who Auburn also defeated in the regular season.

And yet, in a year following a conference title appearance, the fans turn on the coach, because this season's offense isn't as productive. Saying that Gus Malzahn's job is safe, because his buy out would be too high right now.

Oh how easily they forget.

This is what is wrong with today's generations. If they can't have it right now, it is time to move on. Even if yesterday you did have it.

The same idiots hoping Malzahn's contract gets bought out, are the morons who lauded his raise.

We’ve got the very same idiots, morons and instant gratification types at West Virginia too...... not so long ago they wanted Holgorsen fired, and then they didn’t want his contract renewed and now they’re hand-wringing and whining that another school will offer more, buyout his contract and steal him away, and ‘by god, Shane Lyons (WVU AD) better do sumthin about it’.

If there’s one thing that social media has showed, it’s that there’re a lot more idiots and morons out there than the original estimates suggested.

I don't know about the SEC but Ohio State fans have been that way as long as I can remember. Woody Hayes won five national championships and I can remember fans calling for his head as early as 1967. It is a good thing the people who hire and fire are slightly less knee jerk than the fans.

......same for Don Nehlen at WVU, and he ended up in the College Football Hall of Fame.
