ugh...FSU-VT

Postby billybud » Tue Sep 04, 2018 9:39 am

The only way Taggart's tenure could have started worse is if Jimbo Fisher had parachuted down from his private plane, landed at midfield, in cowboy boots, and then grabbed a microphone and yelled, "Y'all miss me yet?"

My thoughts drifted to wondering just what Bobby Bowden might be thinking...... in any event that was not a typical performance by a Florida State team.

The old axiom of Football about ‘if you can’t block ‘em, you can’t beat ‘em’ showed true.
”We’re already in a time where the on-field aspect of College Football is almost a distraction. It’s an era filled with handwringing about player empowerment, NCAA deregulation, the transfer portal and realignment all while the sport generally moves toward a professional model.” ~ Dennis Dodd

It seemed to me that neither the players nor the coaches understood this "new system."

Taggart and Kelly had memorable starts.

(I thought FSU would win)

That was certainly true of more than one Florida school this past weekend.

I don't know if Taggert is the guy for Florida State or not but I never thought Fisher was. I think FSU is better in the long run for being rid of him. Even if the Taggert thing doesn't work out.

Everything that could go wrong...did. Five TO's including fumbles on their own short field, missed short FG, a scored TD that the officials did not review...O linemen taking wrong blocks...

The hope is that although the Nole defense was in a bad spot all night...they really only allowed two TD's.

Def. not a pretty game by FSU.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.
