Gotta pay the bills. Texas is a good recruiting state for Ohio State. Texas is down and it opens things up for the small out of state schools.

That is some payroll...I would add it up but only you, Derek and Mr. Billybud can count that high. Well, Swamp Daddy has that much buried in his backyard...old coffee cans. Folgers...MJB...

Yeah, It is unbelievable what they are paying the coaches. Especially when someone isn't allowed to by the players a big mac without getting in trouble with the NCAA.

Who is to say what is too much. My problem is the fact th3 athletes can't even profit from their images, but the school can. Chris Speilman is has a lawsuit trying to get the NCAA to cave on this issue.

Because somebody has to pay it...and it's usually the students. Which means student loans.....which means you and me. :?

But that's another subject.

How many coaches would coach college football for a teacher's salary?

I suggest the number would approach infinity and at the end of the year the conference records would be the same as they have been for years, 50% of the games would be won and 50% would be lost.

That isn't the coaches fault though and the fans perpetuate it. Actually, Ohio State football and the whole athletic department runs in the black. They pay their own way. I know a few years ago they even paid for a portion of the new library. The issue of the price to go to college is one I know well. It is ridiculous, but the salaries they pay coaches isn't the problem in an of itself. The problem is the mentality of academia as a whole. It mirrors the government. They aren't spending their money and they aren't really responsible for a bottom line. They don't live in the real world and we have to pay the real world price for it on both fronts.

None of the current ones would for sure.
