They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

I wonder what the NCAA will do....with the wrist slap given Miami...the glacier speed strategy of dealing with North Carolina...who knows?

This is a harsh PR situation ... it's bad enough to hit personal non-football related scandal; though, since the media is driven by such things (as well as being riddled with their own fair share of guilt & corruption breeding), they generally wait out some months, until the corporate bigwigs say, "Okay, time to lobby for the guy so he can get back on the field", character has little to do with coaching Football at the Collegiate level these days --- however, taking a chance on a guy to lead your program, when the NCAA has hit your school with violations including paying players and inappropriate benefits, resulting in institutional sanctions where you are hit with a post season ban along with double digit scholarship reductions; the sports propaganda network is going to have to spin this with fools gold to make his image shiny again --- how long, now, before he's announced as the next espn college football analyst??

This is a big win for the university. Though, I suspect the administration was privy to the, "Negotiations", the football program utilized as the recruiting method.

As per the article:

~ "Freeze, who had about $2 million left on his contract for this year, $5 million next year and $5.15 million for the 2019 season, will not be paid going forward. Bjork said Freeze would have been fired had he not resigned." ~

This gets Ole Miss out of paying an elite coach's salary, being able to pay the Co-offensive Coordinator's wages, all while suffering little risk, as the school already self imposed a post season ban, in which, a less than stellar year can be given congenial ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and considered a wash.

Difference here, is that the NCAA investigation, which went on over a 3 year period , found that Miami had no institutional knowledge of the on goings (and only an assistant basketball coach whom at the time was no longer with the school [Jorge Fernández], was ever implemented with volition by Shapiro, whereas head Basketball coach [Frank Haith {whom also was no longer with Miami}] was found by the NCAA to be "not forthcoming" with his testimony, alleging that he was misleading the investigation .. also; all of the coaches named by Shapiro had previously since left Miami). As a matter of fact, many of the UM administration didn't even know who Shapiro was, until he (while intoxicated) blew up at Shawn Eichorst {Miami's then Athletics Director} in the press box at a home game as the `Canes were being blown out; prompting Eichorst to ask who Shapiro was ~ which lead him to peer into Shapiro's activities within the athletics program ~ amidst the internal investigation, Eichorst upended some alarming details, and immediately turned his findings into he school Admin Staff, which then turned the findings over to the NCAA infractions Committee.

The news article by Yahhoo! Sports writers, Charles Robinson and Dan Wetzel, prematurely indicted Miami as a school covering up violations, as; According to NCAA President Mark Emmert, the NCAA began investigating the situation "four or five months" prior to the publication of Robinson's article, and NCAA investigators had conducted multiple interviews with Shapiro. It was the UM administration which did the initial probe into Nevin Shapiro --- and then turned themselves in --- which differs from the Ole Miss case, where the NCAA was alerted by an anonymous source, which lead to the Rebels turning themselves in before the axe fell.

Hugh Freeze's situation had to do with the NCAA getting too close. This is damage control and has been coming for a while if the rumors surrounding the program were any indication.
