Louisville: What's next?

After the amazing start, the season ending nosedive, I am left wonder what the upcoming season will be like. Coach Petrino has been recruiting hard and getting good players some of whom will no doubt play as freshmen. the heavy emphasis is on the O-line which certainly makes sense considering last year's finish.

Lamar back and supposedly now knows the playbook. Coach Petrino is known to coach up in excellent fashion and is now getting 4-5 star players regularly.

I always keep my fingers crossed - this year double behind my back.

yep ... Louisville has all the woes & throws of a team trying to get over that last hump.

I'd like to see them level out as a perennial double digit win program. It would help push the ACC up the hill, and prevent anyone from relaxing; feeling as though they are entitled to being ranked because of who they are.

If the Cardinals can sustain their success --- and right now, I don't see why they wouldn't --- it might just help the conference as a whole, to improve.

You can bet we all (around here) would like to level off at 9-10 wins every year. And, as a longtime fan I know how bad we were in the old days and how far we've climbed under AD Tom Jurich. This man may be a genius at his job as all sports have improved tremendously with the biggest strides coming in football and baseball. So, if it's possible to level out at a high % of wins each year the combination of Jurich pushing and Petrino coaching can do it.

This year will prove interesting as we are finally coming up to ACC levels in many sports and consistency should be just around the corner. Under two months until we begin.

have fun, Swamp Daddy
