2017 Schedule Boise State

Postby donovan » Sun Mar 05, 2017 12:16 pm

This is one of the better schedules for Boise State in terms of strength they have had for some time. Virginia will be the first school from the Atlantic Coast Conference to play a regular-season game at Albertsons Stadium. Here is a statement that shows the influence of Television on scheduling. "Today’s announcement represents the first phase in the 2017 schedule process. The Mountain West’s national television partners – ESPN and CBS Sports Network – can still shift particular games to Thursdays and Fridays, which will then be followed by the announcement of broadcast information and kick times. Upon conclusion of this process, additional games can be selected for broadcast by ROOT Sports and the Mountain West Network on Campus Insiders."

Boise lowered their season ticket prices and the family package by almost a hundred bucks. And as a final note. Boise State University can not resist in espousing the philosophy that only the state can protect people makes this editorial comment on their ticket website page. (Idaho generally eschews laws that make the state morally superior to individuals.) "We want to caution fans to be careful who they're buying tickets from. There are no scalping laws in Idaho to protect buyers. Unfortunately, ticket scams abound, not only on the internet, but also outside the stadium on game day. As in any potential scam, common sense and caution must be the rule. The University does NOT support the practice of ticket resale."

At least they lowered tickets. Ohio State's way of combating scalping was to raise the tickets on the face value to the point that no one can afford to buy tickets from an outside source.

I wish that Boise had a better ACC opponent for the first conference visit...

Virginia went 1-7 in conference last year and is last in the standings.

I don't expect much improvement this year.

I am with you on that. But as you know better than most, scheduling is dependent on so many things. None which may have to do with football.
