I'm very impressed with Brett Rypien. He throws a very tight ball and usually on time.

You know, I've seen Donovan post at times, that Boise State had a great run. And that now the fan base can expect to come back down to reality.

With their win tonight, 10-1 shows the Broncos aren't particularly in a place of humble suffering. If this is what is referred to as growing pains, then give me some --- winning sure does take the sting out of the transition phase, that's for sure.

I always take my lead from Spence and his attitude toward Ohio State. The issue with Boise State is where in their head are the playing. If they would mentally play in the MWC, a minor conference, they would be fine. It is hard to not play on the National scene. You start comparing yourself to Alabama, Michigan etc. They have some good games scheduled in the future such as a one and one with Florida State. Just, in my opinion, is a mistake. The old big fish in a small pond versus the opposite.

What has been the salvation to Boise, as a small school, is their coaching. Since the late 90's they have had excellent coaches, in building teams and teaching fundamentals.Started with Pokey Allen, Houston Nutt, Dirk Koetter, Dan Hawkings and then Petersen who molded it all. Bryan Harsin is a Petersen knock off and will continue to do well. Boise has what some really good teams do, a quarterback that is a leader and passes well. When you watch the game you have no idea who is playing, the rotate in up to 80 plus players a game and there have been many games where every kid has played because they are fresh and can do the job.

But you are right. Like in business where sales cures all ills and the rest is just discussion, so it is with wins.

It is all about the coaching and matchups in college football. You don't have to be better than everyone else. You just have to be better than the team you play that day.
