This went from a snoozer to one of the better closing of the year...

I have to hand it to the coaching at C. Michigan...going for two and the win rather than OT was gutsy...they lost, but I like the call.

If a Chippewa fan, I might not like the gamble. The team had been hot all quarter. Why bank the whole game on one play, a fade into the corner of the end zone?

Somebody needs to run a study on the effectiveness of fade routes. I can't imagine that you can run them with any kind of consistency. The only team I see do it with a lot of success is the Dallas Cowboys, but that's because Dez Bryant pushes off on almost everything. If the CB is watching the ball, you can defend the fade easily IMO. But I'm just a guy on a message board

Wow, I was watching this until it got to 35-14 and I wrote it off. I should have kept watching.

Spence...you missed what may have been one of the most interesting closes in the season...time for one last play....C. Michigan throws up a Hail Mary...their guy catches the ball, is caught, laterals back, to a guy who also laterals back, to a guy who fumbles it, a Chippewa picks up the fumble and laterals to a guy who races to the end zone...diving to hit the pylon as he was tackled...extra point ties the game...the coach goes for two..and loses game....

When I was watching Western Kentucky was dominating. That will teach me to turn before the end.

I'm hoping for a big comeback from Fresno State. It isn't looking good at this point.

35 points behind in the second half...and Central Michigan could have taken it to overtime with a one point PAT.

I just watched the last half of this game. What is humorous is listening to the announcers make up stuff while the game progresses. They are wrong on every comment. Love it.

Wish I would have watched it. Sounds like I missed a good one.

IMO, all of the games I've watched this year were that way. The announcers for these games are NOT as good as the more well known ones. Which goes to show that's a hard job, regardless of how much we hate their "phrasings" some times. "In Space"...."Credit blah blah".

The ones for Northern Illinois and Marshall were no exception to that.

I was watching and when W KY had the ball on 4th down, leading by 7 points and 12 seconds, Lou Holtz was saying they should throw a long pass using up much time. Instead they punted, risking a block and gave the ball to C Mich at the 25 with 1 second remaining.

I was saying why punt the ball, just snap it to someone with speed and have them turn around and run the ball to the end zone for a safety and a 5 point win. The only risk would be for the runner to trip on a yard line.

Intentional safeties have happen quite frequently, but usually when the ball is near your own goal line. This prevents punting from your own endzone and gives you a free kick from the 20. But in this case, it would have ended the game.
