Same goes for Notre Dame and Georgia if they both win out. So, if at season's end, we have Georgia, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Notre Dame. Possible or not?
In the event the four playoff teams were; Georgia - Notre Dame - Oklahoma - Ohio State ~ It would depend on how the marketing research goes.
If the research shows two rematches would make the most money, then yep, that's exactly what we wind up with. If the research would suggest the revenue would be larger if there were National Championship rematch, then the playoff committee would put the team they believe most likely to advance against the team they didn't play in the regular season, whom the committee assumes would be less likely to win ... then roll the dice on the other match up.
Meaning, if the Committee sees bigger dollar signs with a rematch in the title game, and they think Georgia is the team who will be the safest bet to move on, and believe Oklahoma is the least likely of the teams to advance; then the committee will pit them against each other in the semifinals, and cross their fingers that Notre Dame beats Ohio State.
