Re: Rutgers and Maryland possibly to Big Ten? Oh my, oh no!

Rutgers is the NYC market and sadly these days the TV prospects rank higher than determining which rivalries get fans to travel. Syracuse is gone, so I'm sure they've been applying the pressure extra hard to Rutgers. I don't necessarily see them as the worst fit - the Rutgers of the past decade or s...

Re: Week 12 Permeations

Well now they don't have to manipulate the polls too hard to give the SEC their annual coronation. :P Of course, better them than the alternatives who I'll now need to give #1 in my poll. Now we have Grayghost out on the other end of the country who's going to be forced to decide if he has to hold h...

Re: Week 11 Excogitaiton

Kansas State is playing on Championship Weekend though. Their game against Texas is December 1st, so they will at least share the spotlight. Which, with the way the Big 12 happened to shape out this year, is sort of a de facto championship game. Anyway, I'd really like to see Kansas St. and Oregon ...

Re: Romney v. Obama - Ramblings

I think for the current trajectory anything between 285 and 301 is reasonable for Romney. Of course, no guarantee the current trajectory will hold... If there's a big late break then Pennsylvania, Michigan, maybe Oregon, Minnesota and 1 electoral vote from Maine (absolute ceiling about 355, a revers...

Re: Romney v. Obama - Ramblings

Agreed on above. The first debate wasn't a deliberate tactic, but a result from the facts that he has no defensible record to run on, and that he's never before been challenged by the media. To be face to face on an equal stage with a guy who could and was willing to shred those last four years was ...

Re: Romney v. Obama - Ramblings

Candy Crowly's comment would have her a malpractice suit in most professions. I think the fact that the president had a pulse in this debate was enough for the pundits to dub him the winner. Agreed with both of these. It's like in boxing when a guy is getting pounded every round. Then the winner ta...

Re: Romney v. Obama - Ramblings

Candy Crowley's lying on behalf of the President was disgusting. Actually, as David Limbaugh rightly said, it would have been outrageous even if she and the President were correct here. It's up to each candidate to state his case, not the moderator. Crowley was there to organize the questions, manag...

Re: Austin, Mountaineers make early impact on Big 12

Big 12 has quickly shown to be a good fit for them, that's certain. They'll need to find at least some degree of defensive play though. They're living on the edge giving up 45+ in a game. Texas Tech, Kansas St, Oklahoma St. all know how to post a big number... Geno Smith has just been rising to the ...

Re: LSU is bad...

It was a run fest alright...by Florida. 43 carries, not counting the ones by Driskel. LSU has three capable running backs, neither of which had ten carries. It's no wonder they lost. You'd swear that Les Miles has no idea that running the ball happens to wear down a defense in addition to yardage g...

I'm amazed. I knew they were good, but not this good. I know Georgia has some injury issues, but this is more than can be explained by losing Bennett. South Carolina is scary impressive, and are making a statement out there tonight. They'll be getting a boost on my poll this weekend.

Re: Romney v. Obama - Ramblings

Good on the ground info there. Sadly Ohio is a must for Romney, unless he takes at least one of Wisconsin, Nevada, Michigan, or Pennsylvania.... and that's assuming Virginia and Iowa go the right way, which doesn't look bad but is no guarantee. Need everybody to do what they can out there (I'm mostl...

Re: Romney v. Obama - Ramblings

Don't believe the polls folks...It ain't over till it's over. Remember Jimmy Carter beat Reagan....in the polls. Jimmy Carter didn't have volunteers going door to door "helping" people who normally wouldn't bother getting to a polling place vote from home. Exactly the issue. It's a questi...
