Re: Home field advantage
I don't necessarily believe that a won/lost record is an accurate measure of home field advantage. When ESPN had the Marshall game last Thursday, the announcer proclaimed that they had the biggest home field advantage on any team. It almost appeared to be a high school field and crowd. The fact tha...

Re: Home field advantage
Over the last 5 years in conference: Mountaineers Home: +11 (14-3) (0.824) Mountaineers Away: +12 (13-5) (0.722) I thought the Eers would be a bit better at Home but they have not shown that. The faithful always say there is too much partying in Morgantown! But the winning is better in Morgantown, ...

Re: Villanova Invites BE Football to join them in FCS
The Big Easy is so bad...everyone hires all of their coaches. No conference has been raided like the Big East has in the last 3 or 4 years. They should take a vote from all of the FBS schools about replacing them with another conference or just simply toss them...and those who vote to do so can sig...

Re: This is an idea that is interesting....
Good grief. Not the first time I've heard this idea. I guess bad ideas never go away, just get recycled. Univerisities are in the education business, not the sports business. Yes, they make big money in athletics, but it's not their primary focus. They certainly wouldn't want to throw that kind of t...

Re: Crucial Season for Team of the Decade
That very late flag took back the NC from Miami.....Canes still grouse about that flag coming in while they are celebrating the NC. Yeah, it was a bad call. Should have been holding. Ohio State fans still yell about the Gamble mugging that would have kept Ohio State from giving the ball back to Mia...

Re: Mustain impressing Carrolll...may be moving up...
Why is USC ranked higher than Oregon...who did Mushroomberger have to pay??? 8) Oh, did you hear Gary Danielson last night? He was killing me! Killing Me! He said something to the effect (in a season's end forecast poll of some sort) that "Of, Course" USC is above Boise St. and Va. Tech. ...

Re: Curious About Strength of Schedule...
There is no "right" or "wrong" way to do a ranking system. It's strictly personal preference, which is why they all differ.

Re: Is There Anything Wrong With This?
I don't know what the attraction is with icons and images of this style of late. I guess about 2 years ago the marketing department rolled out some "revolution" based marketing and posters at a compaby I was working for . Many of us nearly crapped our pants... it all had, at it's mildest,...

Re: Where You Disagree With Congrove...
As I pointed out earlier in the thread...all systems should be able to pick outrightwinners at a 75% rate (that's about the mean for 40 systems)...but picking winners against the spread is going to be about the 50% mark. Congrove was .50356 against the spread in 2008. Billingsly was the worst at .4...

Re: Tough and Soft OOC
If how you do your math is 1 + 2 = 7, yes, I take issue. Because your "facts" are wrong and you don't have the guts to back up your mouth. I don't make the rules. I only know what I've studied, which admittedly isn't as much as I would like to know. But, I have learned fundamental mathema...

Re: Tough and Soft OOC
In order to present "facts" they have to be factual. You don't present "facts" you present numbers you claim are facts and then never back them up when asked to. Ok, so you take issue with how I do my math. Am I correct? Yes, I am human, meaning I have been known to err, as you ...

Re: Tough and Soft OOC
Whatever happen to ignoring rather than being so vitrolic? I can't ignore someone (Ktffan) who is so openly rude, disrespectful, uncooperative, and blatantly against those objectives, so I voice my opinion to the contrary, when he posts. I could ignore it, but I refuse to, for principles I abide by...

Re: Tough and Soft OOC
Yeah, that's what Steele is attempting. How would you know what he is doing? Do you work for him? Let me save you the time, no, to both questions. You don't even understand that yours all agree, that NO team is ranked ahead of another. Because I'm not dumb as a brick. Why don't you know what he is ...
