Re: Metrics, Weirdness, and Winning with Losses

ESPN likes to throw a bunch of stats in a barrel, mic drop and then walk away like they are the gods of sports. Their much touted QBR is just as much garbage as their FPI. I was looking at their FPI rankings for the NFL and they are a laugh. I won't go into the details but let's just say I would con...

Re: Florida State?

The last 4 weeks of the season start the semi-finals. The power 5 settle it on the field. It'll come down to which of the 5 conference champs weathered the storm best.

Re: College Football Signs that the World is Ending

Every week I keep wondering if my polls broke. I put them in week 2 after they had beat Penn St and then beat Cincinnati and they've continued to climb to a point where I'm worried I have them ranked too high. I have them 11th atm. Weird year with Toledo, Memphis and Temple all in the top 25 while p...

Re: Miami's Defense Is Thinning

It's sad but the reality of life is that very few people turn out where they thought they would be. My childhood dream was to be a research engineer, cure cancer and Alzheimer's, win the Nobel peace prize, and become president of the United States. I'm a software developer with an associates in acco...

Re: Boise State -- Utah State

I suppose I'll be fine as well. I still don't understand how they couldn't hear me screaming at the screen what they should be doing. Even with their hearing deficiencies I was hoping my team would win today but Miami played an outstanding game and their secondary is pretty amazing. I was suspect of...

Re: UW v USC

Yeah, I was saddened when they got rid of Orgeron but not surprised. Sadly, I think he would have done well at USC because I think they need a coach with his style.

Re: Boise State -- Utah State

Donovaaaan!! --- Donovan, what happened!? Your guys couldn't hold onto the ball. 7 turnovers on the road. Looked like the Broncos were playing a game of fumblitis. I'm glad this wasn't on the Saturday Picks; that is one more I would have gotten burnt by. Boise St did mount some offense in the secon...

Re: UW v USC

I was expecting a few more years for Peterson to start dominating USC but I guess they wanted to get a jump on the future.

I'll never understand why they went with Sarkisian over Peterson other than they made an epic mistake.

Re: RANDOM THOUGHTS PART 3...

The ACC is a dumpster fire led by a train wreck this year. So many teams have made moves that seem to intimate that they are ready to step up only to choke the following week.

Even FSU who is light years ahead of the rest of the conference is not living up to their normal dominance.

Re: Bama v. Ga

Honestly, I saw this game as a throw away game a few weeks ago. Georgia still controls it's destiny and now that they've lost maybe they will come full bore every week.

A one loss SEC conference champion is going to make the playoffs. There's too much media bias and hype around the division.

Re: Why"National Championship" is a crap shoot.

I understand that it is a small committee but the people on the committee are all reputable in football and academia. I would love to see one of us on the committee but the people who make it up are pretty close to above reproach in terms of their background and standing in their communities.
