Re: ABSURD poll (3rd installment)

No, I am not going to zero in on the fact that UT is still rated 9 spots below Cal. I have beat that dead horse enough. What is particularly ABSURD from my observations this week is that Florida is rated below several other unbeaten teams (Louisville, West Va, Boise St, Rutgers) who in NO WAY have ...

I wold suspect also Notre Dame will never be independent. They are able to schedule games, both in football and basketball, with whomever they want, because their away games guarantee a built in crowd, many of whom are Notre Dame fans. There are other schools in a similar situation. BYU has almost f...

There is always this discussion about schools not scheduling powerful schools as if it is always that easy or simple Boise State is a prime example. A small school with an excellent program that has had sucess over the past few years, but never really makes it. So... "Boise State might finally have ...

Ticket's for the Ohio State -Michigan game are starting a $800 and finishing at $5,000 right now. They are selling parking passes between $200 (about five miles away) to $575 for stadium parling lot passes. The are estimating that about $15,000,000 will be spent by the fans to park and get into the...

Also the votes, while they are not made public, are looked at by USA Today to make sure the coaches are voting ethically. If coaches were voting as a block for one team or another, those coaches would be kicked out of the process. I am sure you are right in the process...but as non biased and disin...

Apparently cold weather increases correct voting.

You wouldn't need human polls any more because there would be direct evidence for the computers to use and the computer polls could easily determine the relative strength of a team. I remember a few years back with there was a computerized Prize fight between Floyd Patterson and Ali. Think Ali one ...

I am pretty sure that this brawl did not start at the incident the we now see replayed over and over. I can only speculate that up until that time, players were getting out of control, trash talking, gouging, poking...(I am old and decrepit...but have had sons play college football and the stories t...

It will never be fair as long as the current philosophy for a Champion is kept. Football is the only major sport that says, Let's use subjective, as well as objective, criterion to determine who is the champion. You might as well just vote by consensus who should win...oh yeah..I forgot...that is wh...

Boise's Schedule

Do not disagree with Spence in Spirit. As for the Hawaii thing. The reason Hawaii books so many schools of power is two reasons. 1. The players like going to Hawaii. 2. And most important. It does not count against them in the number of games they can schedule. So they get an extra game. This was do...
