Jason G wrote:The reason I used PERCIEVED in an earlier post was simply to prove my point. If BCS schools won't schedule non-BCS schools how do they know how good the non-BCS schools are?

Because majors are kicking mid-majors tails on a regular basis, refer to my first post.

Ok, having read my post again, that could have been perceived as antagonistic. It wasn't meant to be such. I'm just asking questions trying to get your thought process down here. You've given me no reason to believe that the NAIA is competitive (although I believe it myself), other than Adams State ...

I've already exceeded my limit for postings for the day, but I will respond to your very antagonistic post, anyway. Antagonistic???? Man, you get worked up easy. I have not been antagonistic, insulting nor have I attacked you. I get the feeling that you seem to think that all you have to do to make...

I'm not sure why you are so determined to insult me with respect to Adams State College, but if you want, by all means, go ahead. Insult? What are you talking about? They are a competitive football program, by-and-large. Some years more competitive than others, but in general they aren't too bad. T...

Was an NAIA school once? For most of their history they were an NAIA school, and they have since considered re-joining that designation. I wasn't posting invalid information. NO, they aren't NAIA now, they're NCAA Division II, as is the rest of their conference. But Adams State is one of the smalle...

Adans State WAS an NAIA team! Look it up, my point was they are a lot smaller than the average Division II team. But that was lost on you. I didn't say they regularly scheduled I-AA teams I said they played N. Arizona (and they did). If it wasn't 2003, then it was later. I think I stated they were ...

Adams State isn't NAIA now, they were reclassified in 1990 I believe it was, to Division II. Not that that had anything at all to do with the point I was trying to make. Adams State is a small college, and they have played against significantly 'better' competitiion and done pretty well, but why sh...

Oh, they lost to St. Francis 42-10. I believe that St. Francis is an NAIA school, isn't it? Yes, I can't track down the last time an NAIA school beat a scholarship I-AA school prior to that. It was before 1998. To be fair, St. Francis is a good NAIA school, but NAIA schools just don't beat scholars...

Purdue/Indiana State

Indiana State had what may be the worst scholarship I-AA team in history.

Both North Dakota State and Florida A&M are not bad teams, although Florida A&M is hitting probation and that could affect them.

A competitive BCS would allow a team like TCU an opportunity to showcase their talent against a team of comparable skill and ability. They showed they were a competitive football team through head-to-head pairings in their confernece, as well as competitive pairings outside their confernece. They l...

Hey Jason G., you know you have to ask the questions both ways. Your point #2 asks about who should pay the price. Do you believe the BCS schools should be the ones to pay the price? Surely, you wouldn't ask that another team give up millions (that's right, millions) in revenues in order for someon...

1. Schedules are made so many years in advance that it is impossible to know how good or bad the teams may be by the time the game is played. Teams know which school are BCS schools. Even if those schools end up bad, at least play the teams that the best are playing. If you schedule middle Tennesse...

Mid-majors play a considerably weaker schedule then BCS schools. As a result, not only should the be expected to be undefeated to make a BCS game, they need to have schedule 2-3 BCS schools and beaten them, plus they better not even have had close games with weaker teams.

If you take the true "mid"s I think you'll see that the numbers are better than one win out of every 7 games. Good teams from leagues like the MWC, WAC, C-USA, and MAC beat second division BCS conference teams not in great numbers but with some frequency, especially on the somewhat rare occasions t...
