No, you need to look for a year where a conference had lots of co-champs.

I have always believed that the coaches poll represents to great a conflict of interest to over come. Not that the AP doesn't have its problems, but at least they don't have a financial stake in who wins. As long as the games keep getting played, they make money.

And..if you want to talk about not belonging...what is USF doing in the Big East? They are more isolated from UConn, Rutgers, Cincinnati, et al than BC is from Maryland, VT, Virginia, and the Carolinas. I agree. Small school wanting to be big time. They have a very good young program, that wouldn't...

And in my mind....they were, by far the biggest liars and sleaziest of the three. Unfortunately, I think eventually they will came crawling back asking for re-admittance. And the BEast Admin being the weenies they are, will allow it. I agree they will probably be back. My biggest rub with the way t...

My point was building alliances that have nothing to do with sports, but I guess you have to start somewhere. I believe the emphasis in the B-East is on basketball and they are trying to build off of that. It made prefect sense to me that Miami join the ACC. The one that didn't make sense to me was ...

You mention the CUSA. There is NOTHING the same there. The Big East, AFTER the raid decimated them, called the CUSA and "informed" them publically they were going to talk to several of their schools. "As a courtesy".....the key word being "courtesy". The Big East did NO backroom deals, or secret me...

Rules and regs which admittedly I haven't read, and don't plan to, so I defer. My point is that while on the surface the whole conference swicthing mess had a dirty feel to it, both parties involved themselves in the same activity and any other conference that felt it would be in their interest to d...

That and the fact that Ohio State plays in state schools to in fact keep the money in state. Playing in Detroit wouldn't keep the money in state. While Toledo may think they are still in Michigan they are in fact in Ohio and it doesn't make sense for two Ohio teams to help the economy of the state o...

The whole business was dirty, but in the end it was a matter of survival and the Big East turned around and did to a couple other conferences the same thing that was done to them. To survive. In the end no conference is going to sit still and watch themselves dissolve or become irrelevent. The Big E...

My question about the Ohio State-Toledo game is why not Detroit? Certainly more Toledo fans would show up at Ford Field than at Browns Stadium. It just makes more sense geographically and you would think the Rockets would want a more pro-Toledo crowd than they are likely to find in Cleveland. Playi...

Let's be clear....it was a business decision. But, it was a despicable business decision because the intent was the destruction of a BCS league. There was no thought or pity given to the remaining teams that would be devastated both academically and financially. Welcome aboard. It was a business de...
