And Northern Illinois was just 1 game from playing in a BCS Bowl.

Actually, I would like to see a reduction in the number of Bowls. Maybe back to 20 or so. If they start to not be profitable, that will do it.

I seem to be paying less if any attention to this award.

Almost living in Mack's back yard (60 miles away counts as close in Texas) I got a chance to hear and read many things that don't make national news. He is a fine philanthropist giving many hours to charity work. Traveled at least once to the Middle East and always seemed to have time for everyone....

This is a pretty accurate assessment of the current bowl situation.

Been to the Hawaiian islands three times. Twice incorporated a Hawkeye and Razorback football game. Love the Hawaiian islands, except for the long airplane ride.

Agree with this. Many fans of whatever team, have their expectations and priorities way out of wack. I am a big fan, but a win or a loss does not really change my life.
