Re: Michigan and App State tied at 14-14

That's kind of a double edged sword, isn't it? On one hand, you have App St playing against major BCS conference program contenders to determine whether or not they can compete at this level. On-the-other hand, you have teams in D-1A who can not compete at this level, even with midmajor teams. And e...

Re: Michigan and App State tied at 14-14

I respectively disagree. There are certain teams in BCS conferences that are having trouble getting even one win in a regular season. (and I suppose the ends do not justiy the means, seeing as winning is everything in College Football) I'd take App St over Duke any day. Notice I say, Duke. I'm not s...

Re:

It's even worse than that: Quoting Charlie Weis " After thi game, everyone in the country will know the name '. . . . . . .' " Refering to their starting halfback '. . . . . . . . . .' Without looking his name up,who remembers his name. I know I do not recall his name, and there are two re...

Re:

Spence; I hope you don't think I was making a case for Michigan. If it seemed that way, then it was completely unintentional. Knowing who you're playing is definitely the key to preparation. I agree. And yes, Michigan should have been paying closer attention to who their opponent was... they did not...

Re:

IMO, Willingham was not given the proper amount of time. Not sure how long they will go with Charlie either. No, they didn't give Willingham enough time, because they fired him ( thinking they had Meyers as a sure lock ) before Ty had his team ready. Charlie got to coach the team Tyrone built. But ...

Re:

I think people are not realizing how good a team Appalachian St is. Beat Wake Forest 2 years in a row LSU kicked a field goal and beat them by 2 with seconds remaining Nearly handed Alabama a loss They even put a lose on NC State No, people aren't giving Appalachian State that much credit. Comments...

1. Rece Davis
2. Mark May
3. Doug Flutie
4. Craig James
5. espn

Other than that, it's college football, and I'm ready for it.

Re:

The only way those personalities clash hard enough for usc to fall, is if players start feeling as though they are not getting enough playing time. But the pocket books of trojan boosters seem to keep the team happy enough to stick around... yeah I said it... other may have thought it... but I am wi...

There is one thing that sticks out the most in this maze (from my point of view) : Eye witness accounts that say Vick was physically involved with the mistreatment of these animals; for not performing well enough. These accounts have Vick there when one of his associates electrified a dog to death. ...

Eric, here are some teams that you should look at the more recent past, and consider your analysis for USF. Fresno St Boise St TCU Utah These teams have all had recent dominant seasons. And yet, will find it difficult to continue at that pace. USF may play in the Big East, but they haven't proven th...

Why is it that there is a general consensus that the Post Season awards, Heisman, Maxwell, etc are skewed by the reasons mentioned... and yet the polls...all voted on by the same media people...(except e.g. coaches...which is assistants voting to some extent...) and those polls are good enough to c...

Re:

Now, South Florida has a better chance of it than WMU ofcourse (being in the Big East). But to become a pre-ordained powerhouse, you have to first dethrone your competition. Western Michigan never will. You're treating the fact that Western plays in the MAC and that USF plays in the Big East as a m...

Re:

If one would say, drop replay, and just get better officials, who will get the calls right on the field;

Then why wouldn't you simply say, drop the officials who are getting the replay calls wrong?

Wouldn't that be a simpler solution?

Re:

That's funny, I thought Miami/fsu have only been in the same conference for a couple of years... FSU has played both Miami and Florida annually for decades. Miami and Florida have had continual rotations with each other for decades. It's how they came up with the state trophy. You have to beat the o...
