Re: All time greatest play

For me it was "The Play", Cal-Stanford. Why, well one because I am a Cal fan, 2. I was there, and 3. Seeing a Stanford band member get crushed. Ah...good times. Besides that...not a play, but a performance...Marshall Faulk breaking the single game rushing record against UOP. Why...1. I was...

Re: Congrove has Houston renked #2

The main problem with letting Houston play for the national title is that it would encourage other schools to do the schedule nobody. While the schedule isn't everything, a power program (like Notre Dame) could schedule complete cupcakes if they felt it would get them into the national title game. ...

Re: Congrove has Houston renked #2

I here ya. In my heart of hearts would I like to see Houston play LSU for the national championship...yea, but that is just my "root for the underdog" syndrome kicking in. I had this problem with Boise as well in those years they did go undefeated, but my numbers would always say "not...

Re: Congrove has Houston renked #2

I think the big problel is when you tweak the system to make it reflect what you think is right. It turns something that was created objectively into something subjective. Well, in this case the thing I want to change is that for a game score (that takes in losing teams rank, home or away, and MOV)...

Re: Congrove has Houston renked #2

Why on the earth would I want an formula on a subjective subject where my opinion was not the predominant factor. My opinion is the only one I care about. If I wanted an opinion that regurgitated some algorithm that is a secret and only know to the members of the Illuminati and the Tallahassee Demo...

Re: Congrove has Houston renked #2

When it comes to rankings I currently have Houston at #6, and this is mostly due to their schedule. I use a formula for my rankings so my opinion doesn't enter into it. It is based on the rank of the team played, home or road, and margin of victory. Now there are a few flaws in my system as I don't ...

Re: Bowl Projections

I guess we are assuming that Houston loses to either Tulsa or Southern Miss? Possible, but if they win out you're BCS bowl predictions are totally screwed...not to mention, the President of University of Houston will file an anti-trust lawsuit against the BCS. #1 If LSU loses to Arkansas...If Alabam...

Happy Birthday Jarheads

I know this is a few days late, but happy birthday to all you fellow jarheads out there. Also, happy Veterans Day to all of you who served in the other branches though you were not fortunate enough to serve in our beloved Corps. Uh-rah! But seriously, to all who served, regardless of branch, ...
