Re: Transfers-Anyone Know How Many Players.....

Think the NCAA is a mess? Their cartel isn't nearly like big Pharma and the AMA... Doctors are in collusian to make the bucks....during my wife's recent hospital stay, a doctor we didn't know popped in the room and said.."Hi..how are you feeling?" He took 10 seconds to glance at the chart...

Re: Transfers-Anyone Know How Many Players.....

People attend college for, I am sure, a gazillion reasons. When a person transfers because of an extra-curricular activity it makes me believe it was not an extra but the mainstay. I think most kids who go into a division 1 school out of high school have aspirations of the NFL even if they aren't r...

Re: Transfers-Anyone Know How Many Players.....

Lots of kids on that list. It would be interesting to track how their careers go after transferring.

Re: Tip of the Iceberg

The problem is the people who are in charge of the university system as a whole aren't accountable and so they aren't physically responsible. If they need more money they raise tuition. Our government has made a college diploma a requirement to have a job in this country so they need cash, they rais...

Re: FSU & Bluegrass

I was already trying to sneek peeks at Playboys on the news rack.... You youngsters missed YA Tittle, Johnny Unitas, Norm Van Brocklin...and the best of Fran Tarkenton and George Blanda. Yes...and National Geographic and the Sears Roebuck Catalog (For those of you that are clueless, we didn't have ...

I saw Tarkenton play lots. I only remember Blanda with the Raiders when he was older. I have a memory of Unitas,...

Re: Transfers-Anyone Know How Many Players.....

When this all started the transfer rule would have been lunacy. As time progressed and the schools and NCAA-KGB took over, the students became like the guy in the brick fight that had not bricks. Maybe they will have some for a couple of years until the anti-christ figures it out. I don't think the...

Re: FSU & Bluegrass

Speaking of grass...I remember in 1960 when the Dallas Cowboys first started they played their exhibition game in Portland against the LA Rams. Norm Van Brocklin was the QB for the Rams and a guy, Eddie Lebaron was the QB for the Cowboys. LeBaron was maybe 5'6" and Van Brocklin was huge. It wa...

Yep, I am a believer that if the kid doesn't want to be there he is better off not being there.

Mountainman wrote:Reports say Martell is going to Miami......... this Transfer Portal along with the new Transfer Rules has created quite a whirlwind once a domino falls, especially with the quarterback spot.

I heard that this morning. He has several high school buddies at Miami.

Re: Post Your "Make You Think" Questions

Dorsey just wasn't athletic enough to make it in the NFL. He was a great college QB, though, for the reasons you stated. He had a lot of heart and no give up in him.

I think he felt betrayed by the coaches getting Fields to transfer. I can't really blame him for feeling that way. I hope he does well where ever he goes.

Re: Transfers-Anyone Know How Many Players.....

I’m just watching how Neal Brown is putting things together in Morgantown...... he’s looking for QB and so far has looked at a couple of different types, both running and pocket passers. And on the other side, it appears the days of the 30-stack are over. Martell is billed as a running qb with an a...

Re: Post Your "Make You Think" Questions

I think that no matter what kind of talent is on the field that when players start believing the hype that they go into game expecting people to lay down in front of them. They don't work as hard and things still go their way - until they don't. Ohio State wasn't as talented as Alabama, but that sam...
