Re: Playoff Committee's Week 12 Poll

I can make no senses of the CFP Committee’s thought process, logic or reasoning...... riddle me this. Last week Penn State was ranked 4th and loses to Minnesota. This week Penn State falls to 9th while Minnesota comes in at 8th and Oregon and Utah leapfrog both to 6th and 7th respectively. ...

Re: Playoff Committee's Week 12 Poll

It is because they use metrics and criteria to justify their opinion and not the other way around. Most fans do this too and the media is full of guys who work it backwards. EUREKA!!!!!! You found it!!!! Penn State really wasn’t #4, instead when Utah played Washington and Oregon played Southern Cal...

Re: Playoff Committee's Week 12 Poll

It’ll be interesting to sit back and watch how ‘the committee’ deals with those 3 SEC teams, LSU, Georgia and Alabama, to get the matchups ESPN wants during the playoffs ...... while currently, the most important team in College Football is Auburn.   ........ “Oh what tangled webs we...

Re: I believe CFP Chairman just said.....

Of course Alabama is one of the top teams in the nation, as they demonstrated last Saturday against LSU. BUT, there are a couple of things to consider. First, the Tide lost a game, and next is their schedule is weak, weak, weak. We’ve talked a lot about regular season scheduling on this board, and t...

Re: I believe CFP Chairman just said.....

Well, if that’s the case, then let’s take a look at Alabama’s ‘quality wins’ so far this season.  You posted your comment while I was still typing up mine ... Quicker trigger I suppose. But, yeah ... Alabama, before the LSU game, had the 127th out of 130 SoS with regards to the winning ...

Re: I believe CFP Chairman just said.....

Alabama has one loss by 5 points to the number one team....I would have Bama above any other one loss teams like Penn State, Oklahoma, Oregon....and Georgia who lost to South Carolina...who was beaten by Appalachian State and four others (including Bama). There is a value to the quality of the win....

Re: I believe CFP Chairman just said.....

Yes, but look at what they have to do to be able to make it. They have to win the B1G to be considered. Alabama just lost (although to probably the best team) and they will be ranked better than Minnesota this week. If the committee truly only looked at this year Minnesota would be ranked above the...

Re: I believe CFP Chairman just said.....

Minnesota #49 SOS according to Phil Steele beat a committee ranked top 10 team. It wasn't a fluke. Minnesota outplayed the Nits. Alabama Lost to a Top 10 team. That wasn't a fluke either. If having a name school doesn't matter, lets see where Minnesota is ranked compared to Alabama this week. Lets ...

Re: I believe CFP Chairman just said.....

The issue is who gets to decide how “best” is determined...... as mentioned, the ‘control of the room’ is being controlled by the narrative of ‘best’ determination. I’m one who believes that the Game itself should make that determination. I would like to have a decent explanation as to why that’s no...
