Re: Kansas Fires Doug Meacham.........

He really wanted the job at Arizona, but they went with Sumlin. I don't think Miles will truly work out at Kansas. He might make them okay, but "okay" = a losing record in the Big 12. They make you go 9-games round-robin and play a championship game to top it off. Kansas is the type of pro...

Re: Can We Finally Win?

If you doubt my game-calling abilities (and judging by my picks record over the years, you have ample reason to  ), I called the game script of Maryland/Ohio State at the end perfectly. I said Maryland's touchdown call would get overturned, but that it will give Maryland an opportunity to kill ...

Re: Can We Finally Win?

You might be wondering what my take on Michigan football is after talking them down for the last decade. Well, I have to say that this season has finally been a success in the mold of what I want to see them do. You can't really contend for playoffs every season, so any time you are 10-1 you will ta...

Can We Finally Win?

I'm back, for a hot minute

How have you guys been doing this season?

I had to check back in for the Michigan / Ohio State week banter. I really can't follow college football like I used to and free time to waste on the Internet hasn't always been there.

Re: SEC! SEC! SEC!!

Of course in the most down year of the SEC in the last ten years, the top two teams happened to meet each other in the finals thus giving their "dominance" argument more credence than it otherwise would have gotten  This conference's footprint is sinking in my opinion. Kudos on having...

Re: SEC! SEC! SEC!!

There are a lot of different angles that factor into scheduling. UCF had no designs on being nationally competitive when they fielded this schedule whenever they scheduled it. It's easy to say that "nobody wanted to play UCF!" but these things are done well in advance. I don't know why the...

Re: Michigan

Even if you want to run this offense, you can look at a team like Stanford that still has athletes in the slot and good pass-catching tight ends that can stretch the defense down the field vertically. And they can get the running backs (who are fast athletes) involved in the passing game. Stanford r...

Re: Michigan

I would love to know what is inside the heads of these recruits. If I'm going to Michigan, it's the same reason I'd go to Georgia Tech or Duke or Northwestern or Vanderbilt. I wouldn't go there to play football, I'd go there for a free ride at a great school. If I'm choosing my school based on footb...

Re: Michigan

I think Michigan is mostly just a QB away from being good. That is the one thing that Michigan always had when they were good and a big hole ever since. I want to believe that too, but the pass protection is garbage. The receivers never get open. The running backs are fine, but they are not a speci...

Re: Michigan

I'd like to wave a magic "experience" wand and make Michigan get much better over the next 8 months, but tell me how playing Northwestern, Maryland, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State, and Notre Dame is going to go when Michigan went 0-5 versus over-.500 teams. 8-4...

Re: Michigan

It's not like Michigan had mid-major level talent to work with this year for Harbaugh. I've seen so many coaches do more with less. Dantonio is case-in-point. And you should check out MSU's recruiting this year, they are on the upswing versus what they normally get. And they mostly get the Ohio guys...

Re: Michigan

I do think you underestimate how well Harbaugh has done. The cupboards weren't completely bare when he came, but they were close. The state of Michigan isn't exactly a hotbed of recruiting talent so a Michigan coach has to recruit mostly out of state. When you don't have a reputation developing pla...

Re: Auburn v UCF

Alabama passes the eye test IMO. They're not vintage Alabama, but they're probably still the best team in the country. I maintain that you should have to be a conference champion to get in. The committee wanted Bama/Clemson to knock each other out so they didn't get a 3-peat. This is the real nation...

Re: Michigan

Harbaugh should probably just leave for the NFL. I probably would bail on this sinking ship while I still have some cachet. The talent level of coaching in the B1G is starting to hit ridiculous levels, and the trend at my program is a big arrow pointing downward. The two jobs that everybody talks a...

Re: Michigan

It'd be something completely different if Michigan had upset a Penn State or an Ohio State and got upset by a Purdue or a Minnesota. That would have people feel less sour about this season by a wide margin, because Michigan would have displayed an ability to beat a quality football team. There's not...
